The word mathematics comes from the Greek Μαθηματικος (mathematikos)
which means disposed to learn; pertaining to the science of numbers. This word
has its origin in μαθημα (mathema) a lesson, and shows its connection with the idea
of learning in general.

very helpful in indicating what they need to know and typical exam questions.
